Have you seen the TV show on TLC called "On the Fly", if not click on picture above. This show is operated by Southwest Airlines with TLC, ironic I never flew with this airline before. However, I have been to their home bases, such as Denver (DEN) and Baltimore (BWI)- where it being filmed. Even though their jobs, policies, and etc applies to other airlines that I fly with. This show absolutely applies to my life and experiences since I am a frequency flyer and throughout this show I learned something new- Sweet!
One thing, I never knew about that air traffic can cause delays. To be honest with you, they never told that before only weather or mechanic. Uhumm, very interesting! Also they have nice new bags for the ones that are totally damaged if you do not have extra to pack in.
One lady on recently episode, lost her connection in Nashville (BNA) due to delay to take off from NYC. When she arrived her layover destination (BWI), the ticketing agent/check in agent told her she had to find her own place to stay since her flight to Jacksonville, FL (JAX) was not till the next day. Of course, she blew up and mentioned that they are not taking care of their passengers as they should be, by leaving them sleeping on the airport floor. Even it was not her fault that she missed her connection, so the lady called the manager and decided to give her a hotel to stay till her next flight.
That totally happened to me before!! I was flying back to Rochester from maybe spring break with ex boyfriend and roommate, we had connection in MSP- Minneapolis St. Paul, however, our plane in Omaha had mechanic issue that caused the delay. When we arrived there, I knew we missed it but we still ran to the gate. Yes, I did get upset and talked to the agent into get us hotel since we were Deaf, young, and not want to spend the night at the airport! It worked since I did all the talking to get a hotel for all of us!
Am going to watch this show from now on and going to blog whatever I feel like sharing about it since I fly about 3-5 times a year! This year of 2012 gonna break my record of flying 7 times in one year! Be turned to more blogs which will explain all about it!!
God's is good in his own ways and timing! I gotta to learn how to be patient and humble when it comes to a crisis at the airports, then my flight would go very smooth. Amen!
